TQF SHOOTOUT CRITERIA
Toyota 86 Shootout
The Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy holds an annual Toyota 86 Shootout with one of the finalists receiving a cash grant of $37,500 towards a season of racing in the Toyota 86 NZ Championship, provided by the Tony Quinn Foundation.
In order to be eligible to take part in the shootout, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 20 years old or younger
- Must have rookie status for the scholarship season (Toyota 86 rookie status is classed as 2 rounds or less)
- Must have a current NZ Motorsport Licence
- Must have participated in a half day at the Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy within 12 months of the shootout date
Toyota Racing Series (TRS) Shootout
An annual prize package of $70,000 is offered by the Tony Quinn Foundation to the winner of the TRS Shootout, towards competing in the Toyota Racing Series.
In order to be eligible to take part in the shootout, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 21 years old or younger
- Must have a current NZ Motorsport Licence
- Must have participated in a half day at the Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy within 12 months of the shootout date
TQF Shootout
How many Shoot-outs are there?
There are two. The Toyota 86 Shootout and the Toyota Racing Series (TRS) Shootout.
How do you get selected?
The Shoot-out is by invite only from the Hampton Downs Academy team who will communicate the date and the process to the selected drivers.
What happens after you have been selected?
The team from the Hampton Downs Academy will contact you with all the information and the schedule for the Shoot-out.
What happens at the Shoot-out?
There will be a series of timed head-to-head challenges on the national circuit at Hampton Downs and various judged off-track activities. The judges will be the Tony Quinn Foundation trustees.
Is there a cost for the Shoot-out?
No. The cost will be covered by Hampton Downs.
